Welcome to AshTree Art Glass, a creative studio with a passion for glass, craftsmanship and making things by hand.

Our studio is a place to explore creativity through handmade glass jewellery, bespoke memorial pieces and hands-on workshops. We love discovering what can be created with glass, from colourful lampwork beads to unique jewellery designed to be enjoyed and treasured.

Each of our glass beads is handmade, giving every piece its own character. We combine our glasswork with materials including sterling silver and stainless steel to create jewellery that brings together artistry, quality and thoughtful design.

We also offer bespoke memorial jewellery, incorporating ashes of loved ones into glass to create a personal keepsake. We understand the meaning behind these pieces and approach each commission with care and sensitivity.

Sharing creativity is an important part of what we do. Our lampwork glass bead workshops invite beginners to step into the studio, try something new and experience the joy of making their own glass beads. As our studio grows, we hope to expand our workshops to include jewellery making and other creative experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We recommend storing your jewellery somewhere dry and avoiding prolonged contact with water, perfume and harsh chemicals.

    Although lampwork glass is durable enough for everyday wear, handmade jewellery should still be treated with care and stored safely when not being worn.

  • Lampwork glass is much stronger than many people expect. After being made, the beads go through an annealing process in a kiln, which strengthens and stabilises the glass.

    For everyday wear, they are surprisingly durable — much like glass marbles, which are designed to withstand regular handling and knocks.

    That said, glass is not indestructible, so we still recommend treating your jewellery with reasonable care and avoiding drops onto very hard surfaces.

  • The photographs shown are representative of the design and colourway, but every piece is individually handmade. Subtle variations in colour, shape and pattern are part of what makes each piece unique.

    Your jewellery will be beautifully similar, but never completely identical.

  • IEach bead is individually handmade in our studio using traditional lampworking techniques, where glass is melted in the flame and shaped by hand.

    Many of our designs are created slowly in layers, giving each piece its own subtle movement, depth and individuality.

  • Yes — we’re always happy to discuss custom ideas and commissions.

    Because every piece is handmade individually, we can often adapt colours, styles and designs to create something more personal to you.

    We also have a range or memorial pieces that can incorporate the ashes, hair or fur of loved ones.
